The end of the Golden Throne

Into the Dark

Following a rather hostile communication with Rogue Trader Echero pointed them in the direction of the Chaos hes hunting in the darkness of Footfall. After a taunting by the Chaos Warlord Vast the party stares into the darkness of the deep asteroid. Ready to bring the light of reason to the dogmatic and chaotic mutants that hide within it.

Mood on the station.

The tension on the station is palpable. Every person turns to face the Rebels in recognition. People whisper among themselves. People give a wide berth walking through the crowded hab halls avoiding the group like the Emperor’s wrath was going to fall at any moment on the group, destroying everyone standing too near.

The Groups agents have to step twice as light and work hard to find merchants willing to sell the goods they seek. It is not impossible though. For every merchant who closes their doors another opens. A desperate merchant foolishly hoping to profit when the specter of death hangs over the station.

No rest for the weary.
You'll never be safe.
After the battle for the Rock. Everything was settling down over the course of weeks. Reparations and relief efforts were provided for the planet now that the battle had ended. However all was not well for the newly minted microforce fighting for the imperial truth.

A sudden ambush and an enigmatic ally remind the team that there can be no rest. Their only defense against their enemies is constant vigilance. A strange golden being was unleashed in the Omnissiah Vigil. The saboteur that unleashed them escaped in the confusion.

A vision of a crusade doomed to failure. Plans are made. Their time is short. The empire can throw endless soldiers at a rebellion until it is crushed. Though they have a host of Dark Angels at their disposal even that alone will not suffice. They have to win decisive victories and turn more people to their line of thinking if they ever hope to stand against the might of the Emperor’s hammer.

The Arrival of the Eighth Massacre
March of the Damned.

While the rest of the group fought against Magos Juris on the Omnissiah’s Vigil. Tristan using his disguise as an Officer aboard his current Imperial Navy vessel, played out his gambit of betrayal. Having one of Echero’s vessels open fire on his Imperial ships he seized the opportunity to call out betrayal and attack Echero’s vessel in return. The ships traded shots but in the end it looked as if Tristan would be the victor and securing a breach in the Imperial Blockade for the Pirate fleet.

Things turned dramatically for the worse when a Chaos Cruiser exited the warp and engaged both wounded ships in a battle to the death. Through decisive action Tristan crippled the vessel and eventually boarded it leading his men to victory over its crew. This was not the end however as a spearhead fleet lead by the Eighth Massacre(Susie) tore into the system and chased Tristans Vessel back to the Pirate fleet where a massive battle has begun.

The power of reason
The Death of Ritual.

Driving deep into the Omnnisiah’s Vigil Temperus, Ophaniel, and Sephirus fought their way to the bridge. There at the helm was none other then Magos Juris himself. His fury for the blasphemies of “Truth” that Temperus stood by drove him to battle.

Using the best that the Order of the Dragon had to offer his shrine was transformed into a giant Dreadnought class vehicle of death. With four arms terminating in ancient and powerful weapons. He strove to destroy Temperus with the wrath of the Machine God but ultimately failed. Temperus literally tearing the Machine to pieces before Ophaniel flanked the great machine and destroyed it for good, killing Magos Juris in the process. After which Temperus showed what the power of reasons has over superstition and ritual by easily defeating the lockout codes preventing him from taking the Helm of the Omnissiah’s Vigil and forging a new chapter for the Mechanicus.

Wisperings in Kronus

While the battle is joined between the Bellator and Omnissiah’s Vigil something stirs in the larger part of the galaxy. Those sensitive to the eddies of the warp have started howling mad prophecies of doom upon the scattered outposts of humanity. Seers claw out their eyes, witches spit up blood, and Angry mobs dragging out innocent and criminal alike and beat them to death out of seemingly mindless anger. A quite man sitting in a shrine aboard the Lux whispers a name to himself opens his eyes and requests permission to commandeer a shuttle.

The Council is adjourned
Death of the Council

Having arrived back on the planet after their battle with the Council aboard their vessel they found the planet far less hospitable with terrible storms and purple skies. Unable to vox the surveyor site they bravely made planet fall. They found the camp in tatters with bodies everywhere. Some investigation showed a hasty retreat by some survivors and following that they found a small group of surveyors in caves.

They found out that Jarvin was determined to end this menace or die on his feet, gathered a large attachment of his remaining men to assault the city and end this menace once and for all. This resulted in a complete slaughter of most of his men. Fighting their way to the very top the Counsel of six arrived to oppose them. Severely beating Jarvin and killing most of the rest of the group. A lone man In storm trooper armor and a covered face set about to destroy the tower alone. When things were looking grim however Capt. Sephirus and his retinue arrived to bring the wrath of the Emperor down on this vile Council.

Destroying the tower the city was slowly being consumed by a vortex in time and space. They escaped the city in an Valkyrie Gunship. They fought a pitched battle with a horde of Screamers with the Council at their head. Mowing down hordes of screamers some managed to get past the barrage to do extensive damage with beams of white hot fire. The team fought them in every way possible.

Brother Ophaniel even climbed to the top of the vehicle to face the beast in single combat. After taking a few hits the Council decided the best course of action was to cripple the ship and let gravity do his work for him. He destroyed the vessel but in doing so the explosion destroyed him. Tumbling from the sky quick thinking saved them from certain death. Touching the earth below they watched the remains of the city disappear in the warp as the vortex closed forever.

A little bit of Prospecting

They group has arrived safely to the system. They made planet fall on the first planet that supported life. The planet seemed almost too accommodating and comfortable to Terran life. Very little of the local Fauna proved to be hostile but terrible razor winged birds were encountered.

They eventually encountered a strange alien city made of bone and blackish purple polished stone that seemed to resist most basic weapons attempt to destroy it. Cornelius and Gorgut fell victim to an alien device designed to entertain visitors to the city and fulfill their every desire. After being partially corrupted by the device Cornelius broke its hold on him, helped the ork escape its clutches and destroyed the device freeing the rest of the expedition team that had also been in its clutches.

The other two hustled their way through the empty streets till they encountered the huge dark tower in the center. Which was several hundred feet in size. The door was sealed and despite efforts both peaceful and violent the door would not open. When the group all gathered they found the door to the place would open immediately in the presence of Cornelius. Picking their way through the strange tower they encountered a counsel of six masked figures who bargained Cornelius’s freedom for a chance to build his empire and to aid in the battle against the Imperium.

Cornelius refused the counsel threatened him and his allies with a fate worse then death. At which point the tower itself unleashed a beam of pure warp energy tearing the fabric of reality and unleashing demons. The encounter was terrifying and the group beat a hard retreat demons on their heels to the edge of the city.

They have boarded the Lux ready to leave the system their expedition largely a success. Escaping the perils of the warp to face the horrors of commerce.

Building an empire
A mining endevor.

Securing resources from system 568.

My agents discovered a rumor of a resource rich system discovered by accident by a frigate in Lord Echero’s employ. While this information has most surely been passed on to Echero himself there has been no word of his attempts to claim the system. I have secured coordinates and warp routes that are turbulent but not impossible for a skilled navigator.

Mining Endeavor:greater 1,200 Achievment points.

Requirements: Hire a survey team, Secure mining compacts, Acquire skilled transporters to transport resources, Find buyers, acquire planetside facilities and mining equipment and hab blocks for miners.

Objective:1 Survey the system and its planets
Objective:2 Secure the system of any hostiles or threats to mining operations
Objective:3 Find a safe route that transports can use as shipping lanes for mining camp and shipping of resources
Objective:4 Convince others of mining operations success and find a buyers willing to fund continue exploitation of the system to the mutual benefit of all parties involved(except the miners. their life is probably going to be terrible. So grim-dark!)

Making Footfall
Footfall profit

Through quick work and ingenuity the Tech Priest brought the gellar field into operation and the arch militant called down fire on the engines to prevent the jump to warp. With some repairs and good luck the Navigator got their battered ships to Footfall. After a few acquisitions the group prepared to start their first real endeavor out in the Kronus expanse.
